Maritime History

The village has a long fishing and maritime heritage, reflected in landmarks such as the historic Port Eynon Lifeboat Station and the famous Port Eynon Salthouse ruins. Dating from the 16th century, the Salthouse was once used to produce salt from seawater and remains one of the most important historic sites on the Gower coast.
