Bracelet Bay

Bracelet Bay is one of the most beautiful and easily accessible beaches near Mumbles, located just around the headland from Mumbles Beach at the western edge of Swansea Bay. With its large clifftop car park and spectacular views across the Bristol Channel, it is one of the best places in Swansea to enjoy dramatic coastal scenery in all seasons.

Rock Pools and Wildlife at Bracelet Bay

Unlike some of the wider sandy beaches further along the Gower Peninsula, Bracelet Bay is known for its rocky shoreline, pebbles and fascinating rock pools. At low tide, visitors can explore these pools and discover marine life such as crabs, small fish and sea anemones, making it a popular spot for families, nature lovers and rock pooling.

The beach's small, crescent shape and sheltered position create a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for coastal walks, photography and relaxing by the sea. Despite being just minutes from Swansea, Bracelet Bay is often quieter than larger Gower beaches, as many visitors enjoy the views from above without descending to the shore.

Café, Views and the Limestone Cave

Above the bay, a popular café and nearby restaurants offer panoramic sea views, making it a perfect place to stop for refreshments while exploring the coastline.

To the eastern side of the beach, a small limestone cave, visible at low tide, forms a natural tunnel and adds to the bay's sense of adventure.

Located close to Mumbles, Mumbles Lighthouse and the Gower coastal path, Bracelet Bay is one of the best scenic beaches in Swansea and an ideal starting point for exploring the Gower Peninsula.

Safety Information

The rocky terrain and strong tides make swimming unsafe at Bracelet Bay. Always check tide times before visiting and take care when exploring the rocks and cave.
