Hillend Campsite, Llangennith
Hillend is my favourite campsite on the Gower Peninsula, and , indeed, the whole of the UK. Located off the north edge of Rhossili Bay, the camsite skirts the wide expanse of clean sand, which is swept by the Atlantic Ocean.
.
The large, sprawling site is backed by the domineering Rhossili Downs, which is the largest hill in Gower, and the nearby rustic village village Llangennith.
The toilet, shower and dish-washing blocks are immaculately kept, if a little distant from campers on the outskirts of the campsite.
The site shop is a decent size, with a good stock of vegetarian and vegan options available from their frozen section. Firewood is also available here for your obligatory camp or beach fire. Its stock is priced very competitively, with essentials costing less than most city convenience stores.
Complete with a large wooden children's play area, good wi-fi connectivity and very friendly staff, Hillend id perfect for families, surfers and just about everyone who enjoys countryside walks, sea sports, miles of sand, or just want to relax and soak up the sunshine among what are considered some of the best views in the whole of Wales.
Highly recommended.
